We make several peptides available to the research community, and can supply collaborators with novel triple-helical peptides to order.
Our triple-helical peptides are synthesised in-house. The default format is with free N-terminus and C-terminal amide. In general we include Cys residues close to the N- and C-terminus of the peptide. Their primary purpose is to increase quaternary structure by coupling free Cys thiols to the free N-terminus of the peptide using the heterobifunctional cross-linking reagent, SPDP (Sigma P3415). The cysteine residues can enhance the triple-helix stability by oxidising and forming internal disulphide links, and also encourage peptide adhesion to 96-well plates.
